I’m Janice… and I’ve spent my whole career caring about what words can do.
I’m a freelance copywriter and communications specialist based in Belfast, working with charities, small teams and values-led organisations who need their message to land clearly, warmly and with the confidence their cause deserves.
I began my working life in a classroom.
Sitting on the carpet with six-year-olds and a storybook, I learned something that has shaped everything I’ve done since.
In early years education, words are everything. Stories help children make sense of the world. They explain big ideas, naming emotions, building trust and creating a sense of safety.
The classroom taught me how much the words we use matter. And how carefully they need to be handled.
Good words don’t just communicate. They connect.
Over time, that attention to language led me out of the classroom and into copywriting and editorial work. Today I bring the same care and thoughtfulness to the organisations I work with; charities and small teams who are doing important work and need words that do it justice.
Great causes deserve great words.
